THE STORY

From an Army Town in India to the Pacific Coast

Growing up in a military family meant one thing above everything else — you learn to adapt. Jyoti was born in Bihar, grew up in Kolkata, and spent her school years moving across India as her father served in the Indian Army. She studied at Army Public School, Patiala and later graduated from MDU University, Rohtak, Haryana.

Moving constantly as a kid didn’t unsettle her — it made her curious. Different cities, different cultures, different food, different people. That instinct to observe, adapt, and figure things out in unfamiliar territory turned out to be exactly the right foundation for a career in digital marketing.

 Today she’s based in Campbell River, BC — on the ocean, surrounded by mountains, and exactly where she wants to be. She lives there with her husband and her son Kiyan, and runs Things of Marketing — the agency she founded after nearly a decade of watching businesses spend money on marketing that looked professional but wasn’t actually working.

Jyoti doesn’t claim to know everything — she’s the first to tell you that. What she does know is how to find what she doesn’t know yet, and then fix it. That’s a different thing entirely. It’s what makes her dangerous with a technical audit and invaluable when something in a campaign isn’t making sense.

 She’s the kind of person who plans, checklists, and executes with a consistency that most people can’t sustain. Whatever she does, she does it properly or she doesn’t do it. That applies to a GA4 tracking setup, a keyword architecture, an ad account rebuild — and, as it turns out, to jiu-jitsu.

 Clients get someone who genuinely cares about their results, who speaks plainly about what’s working and what isn’t, and who can zoom from technical detail to strategic direction in the same conversation. Nine years of doing that — across SEO, paid media, analytics, and CRO — means very few situations she hasn’t already seen a version of.
