Social Media Content

Social media and content

Social media and content that feed your search rankings, not just your feed

Posting for the sake of posting doesn’t grow a business. I handle social media management and SEO content together, because the content you publish is what Google ranks and what AI tools quote, and the presence you build on social is part of what makes them trust you.

OUR PROCESS

Why content and social actually matter to a small business

Most small business owners treat social media and content as two separate chores. Post something on Instagram, maybe write a blog when there’s time, and hope it adds up to something.

It can add up to a lot, but only when both are pointed at the same goal. Content is the thing search engines rank and AI tools quote. Social is where you build the signals and the mentions that make them treat you as real. Done together they make your SEO and your ads work better. Done separately they’re just extra work.

01
Content is what actually ranks

Google doesn't rank your business. It ranks your pages. Without content answering what your customers search for, there's nothing to rank, which is why so many small business sites sit invisible no matter how nice they look.

02
Content is what AI tools quote

ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Perplexity pull short, clear answers from pages. If your site doesn't contain the answer in a form they can lift, they cite someone else. Content written properly works for Google, Bing and the AI tools at the same time.

03
Social Builds Search Trust

Active profiles, consistent business details, people mentioning and linking to you. Search engines and AI tools look at whether a business exists beyond its own website, and an abandoned Facebook page from 2019 says the wrong thing.

04
Paid Social Reaches Non-Searchers

Search finds people already looking. Instagram, Facebook and TikTok ads put you in front of people who didn't know they needed you. That's how you fill the top of the funnel that your search campaigns later convert.

MY PROCESS

I write for your customers first, then make sure search engines and AI can read it.

Content, social and paid work best when they point at the same goal. I start with your customers’ questions, then make sure every page and post is easy for search engines and AI to pick up.

Find out what your customers are actually searching

Keyword research for your business and your area, looking at what people genuinely type, the questions they ask, and the words they use rather than the words your industry uses. Then I map each topic to a page or a post so nothing gets written without a job to do.

Write content built to rank and be quoted

SEO content writing that answers the question clearly and early, with proper headings, internal links, schema markup and titles and meta descriptions that are actually written. Short direct answers near the top, because that's the format Google's featured snippets and AI Overviews lift. One piece of content, working for Google, Bing and the AI tools.

Build a social presence that supports it

Profiles completed and consistent across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and TikTok, with your business details matching what's on your site. A posting plan you can sustain, content repurposed from what's already been written rather than invented from scratch, and genuine engagement to grow followers who might actually buy. Vanity follower counts do nothing for a small business.

Run the paid side, then measure all of it

Meta ads across Facebook and Instagram, TikTok where it suits your audience, and boosting the organic posts that are already proving themselves rather than the ones you wish had worked. Conversion tracking through the Meta Pixel and GA4 so every lead is attributed properly. Then monthly reporting showing what the content ranked for, what the social drove, and what I'm doing next.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions

What's included in social media management services?

Profile setup and optimization, a content plan, writing and scheduling posts, engagement and replies, and monthly reporting on what actually drove traffic or enquiries. For most small businesses I’d also fold in repurposing, so a blog post becomes several social posts rather than everything being created from scratch.

Indirectly but genuinely. Social posts themselves aren’t a direct ranking factor, but an active presence creates mentions, links and traffic, and it gives search engines and AI tools evidence that your business is real and current. Consistent business details across your profiles also help, since search engines cross-check them against your site.

It can, and the way content is written makes a real difference. AI tools lift short, direct answers from well-structured pages, so content with clear headings, FAQ sections and schema markup gets quoted far more often than a long unbroken article. There’s no guarantee of citation, but the same writing that ranks on Google is what gets picked up by AI tools.

Yes. Meta ads across Facebook and Instagram, Instagram marketing campaigns, TikTok where it fits, and boosting posts that are already performing. Paid social pairs well with pay per click, since search captures people already looking and social reaches people before they start.

Social engagement can move within weeks. Content takes longer, usually 3 to 6 months before pages start ranking and bringing in steady traffic. Paid social can start generating leads within days. I’ll tell you which of those applies to your situation rather than giving you one timeline for everything.

Do you write the content, or do I?

I write it. SEO content writing, blog posts, service page copy and social captions are all part of the service. If you’d rather write some of it yourself, I’ll give you the keyword research and the brief so what you write still has a job to do.

SEO content writing means writing content built around what people actually search, structured so search engines can understand it. That means keyword research first, clear headings, a direct answer early in the page, internal links, and proper titles and meta descriptions. It should still read naturally, because content written for algorithms rather than people tends to rank badly and convert worse.

Fewer than you think. For most small businesses, one or two done properly beats five done badly. Facebook and Instagram suit local and consumer businesses, LinkedIn works for B2B and professional services, and TikTok makes sense if your customers are genuinely there. I’d rather tell you to drop a platform than have you posting into an empty room.

By posting things worth following and engaging with the right people, not by buying them. Bought followers wreck your engagement rate, which makes the platform show your posts to fewer real people. Slower growth with an audience that might actually buy is worth more to a small business than a big number that does nothing.

You can start with one, but they work best together. Content is what search engines rank and AI tools quote, and social is what builds the trust signals and mentions that make them treat your business as real. If budget is tight, I’d usually start with the area that fixes your biggest gap, whether that’s content nobody can find or a social presence that looks abandoned, and then add the other once it’s working.
